Partner with us The Galway energy-efficient car

Would you like to partner with us on our journey to Shell Eco-marathon Europe in London in July 2019, where we will compete with the world’s most efficient cars? This will be our fifth time representing Ireland on an international stage. The car is nearly ready, but we still need resources to help us get there, and to grow a world-class programme through 2020 and beyond.

How to get involved

Could you offer materials, components, engineering services or logistics to support the the Geec? Would like to discuss the possibility of helping to fund the Geec? If so, please email us on info@thegeec.ie to discuss partnership. We’ll be happy to exchange ideas with you about partnership, and we can arrange for team members to give a presentation at your site.

If you’d just like to keep track of progress, you can get the most up-to-date news on Facebook or Twitter.

Benefits of partnership

Your brand will be displayed physically on the car, as well as on our media coverage, social media and public events. We have previously been covered extensively by regional and national media including the Irish Independent, TG4, Today FM and the Engineer’s Journal. Your organisation can have the opportunity to be associated with a project at the intersection of motorsport, extreme engineering, and energy conservation. In particular, you can gain a high profile among NUI Galway engineering students, as a recruiter or a future business partner. We’re open to any suggestions as to how a partnership might benefit your organisation.

Beyond 2019

Our aim is not just to compete internationally this year, but to develop the Geec as a long-term project that will demonstrate and raise public awareness around innovative energy-efficient transport, while also providing a multidisciplinary platform that pushes young engineers to achieve their very best. We believe that within a few years, the Geec can succeed at the highest level in Shell Eco-marathon, showcasing Irish engineering capability on an international stage. We hope that if you get involved this year, you can contribute to our long-term plans.
