The Geec is the first and only Irish team in the world’s top ultra-efficiency competition and the most energy-efficient car ever built in Ireland.

The Team

The Geec team consists of University of Galway students from 1st to 5th year, studying disciplines such as Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electronic & Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Energy Systems Engineering. First-year students enrolled in the Undenominated Engineering programme are also valuable members of the team.

This diverse mix of students from various engineering backgrounds brings fresh perspectives to the ongoing development and improvement of the ultra-efficient car. Each member contributes unique insights and ideas, driving innovation and fostering continuous progress.

Collaboration is at the heart of the Geec team. Members work closely together, encouraging the trial and testing of new ideas while promoting learning and personal growth. This hands-on approach, combined with group collaboration, is both exciting and educational, helping team members develop essential skills such as teamwork and problem-solving while forging meaningful friendships in a supportive environment.
